About PKMC

Peter K. Martin worked in JP Morgan & Co.’s Fixed Income Sales and Trading Division for 17 years from 1992 to 2009, spending the vast majority of his time on the US Treasury Bonds and Options Trading Desk. At JP Morgan, Peter was a market maker and a proprietary risk taker, primarily specializing in US Treasury Bond trading and arbitrage. At different times in his career he was a market maker in virtually every point on the treasury yield curve, spending the longest period of his career trading the 10 year sector. As a bond trader, he developed skills in outright risk taking, bond basis trading, yield curve arbitrage, bond options trading, futures trading, and many other facets of interest rate proprietary risk taking.

In 2009, Peter retired from JP Morgan as an Executive Director and returned home to the Jersey Shore in order to enjoy life with his young family before they became too old to want to enjoy life with him.

After retiring from bond trading at JP Morgan, Peter began to more actively manage his personal equity and fixed income investments. Over the past several years, he has developed quantitatively based models and methodologies using the skills and knowledge from his past trading experience in order to manage his personal liquid assets in an efficient, disciplined and intelligent manner. In an attempt to formalize this investment management effort, Peter has created PK Martin Capital, LLC.

Peter graduated from Lehigh University in 1988 with a BS in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Philosophy. He played varsity soccer at Lehigh and was a member of Zeta Psi fraternity. He attained an MBA with a focus in Finance from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in 1992.
